We offer forensic DNA analysis to public and private customers. GENA is an independent accredited forensic DNA laboratory established near the University of Stavanger.
GENA offers both private and legal DNA tests. The private DNA test can easily be taken in the privacy of your own home. This saliva-based paternity test can be taken at any time and the samples returned to GENA by ordinary mail. Results will be ready within 5-10 working days. Requests and reports are treated confidentially.
A legal paternity test requires the presence of an authenticity witness. The test kit will be sent directly to your medical doctor or lawyer for your sampling.
GENA is used regularly in Norwegian courts and by both the prosecution and the defence sides as independent DNA experts for interpretation of forensic DNA evidence.
GENA gives lectures in forensic genetics at the University of Stavanger. We also give seminars for legal practitioners.
GENA is accredited by the NS-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, and provides services of the highest standard.
GENA is accredited by the Norwegian government accreditation unit, Norsk Akkreditation (GENA TEST 205). As the only Norwegian laboratory with this accreditation, GENA offers quality assured forensic services to public and private customers for analysis of both reference samples, including paternity tests, and biological stains.

GENA offers high quality forensic DNA services. GENA is ISO 17025 accredited by international standards (Norwegian Accreditation). GENA is the only Norwegian forensic laboratory accredited for the analysis and interpretation of biological stains- and reference samples.
